About the Legal Services Commission

The Legal Services Commission was established under the Legal Profession Act 2004. The Commission is the sole body responsible for receiving and managing complaints about the conduct of lawyers, law practice employees and unlawful operators in relation to the provision of Legal Services in Queensland.

The functions and work of the Legal Services Commission are set out in Chapters 4 and 6 of the Act. These include the obligation to investigate allegations of professional misconduct or unsatisfactory professional conduct.
