Queensland Discipline Register

The Legal Profession Act 2007 (the Act) requires the Legal Services Commission at section 472 to keep a Discipline Register’ of disciplinary action taken under the Act – that is to say, of every order of a disciplinary body or court that finds a lawyer guilty of professional misconduct.

The Act requires the Discipline Register include the names of the legal practitioners the subject of the disciplinary action, the names of the law firms where they worked at the time of the conduct in question, and a range of other information including the particulars of the disciplinary action taken against them.

It is important and we recommend that you take the time to read the Explanatory Notes before accessing or searching the Discipline Register for the first time.

The Discipline Register is arranged in reverse chronological order, with the most recent disciplinary action listed first.
