Welcome to the Legal Services Commission

The Legal Services Commission is an independent statutory body whose primary role is to deal with complaints about the conduct of solicitors, barristers and law practice employees.

Our purpose is to promote and protect the rights of legal consumers in their dealings with legal practitioners and law practice employees in Queensland.

We are responsible for ensuring that complaints are dealt with fairly, efficiently and independently of the legal profession. We are also responsible, when the evidence after investigation warrants it, for initiating disciplinary proceedings against legal practitioners and law practice employees for unsatisfactory professional conduct or professional misconduct.
