LSC v Alexander Kurschinsky [2019]

The defendant was charged with, and found guilty of, two offences under section 25 of the Legal Profession Act 2007 , by holding himself out as entitled to practice law when he was not so entitled (as his practising certificate had been cancelled by the Queensland Law Society). He sent several letters to law firms and the Registrar of Titles signed as Alex Kurschinsky, Principal, on Kurschinsky Law letterhead, in relation to matters in which he was representing himself, representing that he was an Australian legal practitioner, when he was not. In addition, he maintained the website for Kurschinsky Law, advertising that he was a solicitor, a member of the Queensland Law Society’s Revenue Law Committee and that Kurschinsky Law practiced in various areas of law.  He was fined $1000 and ordered to pay costs.
