The defendant engaged in legal practice when not entitled contrary to section 24(1) of the Legal Profession Act 2007. Ms Moore held the position of non-practitioner director of the law firm Stenton & Moore Solicitors and did not hold a practising certificate and was not admitted to practise in Queensland or elsewhere. Over a period of three months, the defendant stated she was a solicitor and provided legal advice to clients and other professionals. The court ordered Ms Moore pay a $5,000.00 fine, court costs of $1,500.00 and $101.80 for the cost of the summons.
