Introduction and how to use
The Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 (PIPA) imposes restrictions on the advertising of personal injury services and was amended in June 2006 to give the Commissioner the jurisdiction to regulate personal injury advertising on internet website.
Subsequently the Commissioner published a Guide to Advertising Personal Injury Services and a Guide to Advertising Personal Injury Services on the Internet to assist practitioners to comply with their legislative obligations and also to set out the Commissioner’s approach to dealing with breaches.
The Commissioner has identified several problem areas with websites. As a result this tool has been created to assist practitioners to achieve a compliant website.
