Your Feedback - the survey results
We encourage people who have made informal inquiries of the Commission or made complaints to give us their feedback by completing the relevant survey form, and similarly lawyers who have been respondents to complaints and our stakeholders more generally.
The survey forms are readily accessible on our website both in on-line and hard copy versions and can be completed at any time. We routinely include an invitation to complainants and respondents to consider participating in the survey in the closure letters we send them advising them of the outcome after we have finished dealing with the complaint. We extend the same invitation to inquirers and stakeholders as appropriate.
Not everyone takes the opportunity, however, and so we make a special effort periodically to see if we can improve the response rates. We will personally contact everyone who makes an inquiry during the months of November and May each year to invite them to complete the survey (commencing November 2008), and similarly every complainant and respondent to the complaints we finalise during February and August (commencing February 2009). We will survey our stakeholders more generally only annually, in October / November each year (commencing October 2008).
We will make contact by email wherever possible and include a link to the relevant survey form, or alternatively by means of a letter which encloses a hard copy survey form together with a stamped self-addressed envelope. We will copy the information from the hard copy forms that are returned to us onto the on-line version to enable us to automatically generate reports telling us how the people who complete the various surveys answer the ‘tick the box’ questions and we will manually prepare separate reports that summarise any additional comments they make in the ‘free text’ boxes.

Feedback from inquirers
The survey was first made available to inquirers in October 2008. We received 20 responses in the period to 31 December 2008 and subsequently slightly revised the survey form. We received a further 15 responses in the period to 30 June 2009.
